MENGKAJI EFEKTIVITAS METODE PERAWATAN TANGKI STORAGE DI PABRIK KELAPA SAWIT TANGAR MILL

Kualitas CPO merupakan hal penting yang harus mendapat perhatian karena akan mempengaruhi harga. Kualitas CPO pada pabrik kelapa sawit dapat dipengaruhi dari proses pemanenan dan pengangkutan buah, proses produksi dan penyimpanan minyak pada tangki storage. Kualitas CPO yang dihasilkan pabrik kelapa sawit harus sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku, yaitu kadar kotoran kurang dari 0,030%, kadar air kurang dari 0,15%, dan kadar asam lemak bebas kurang dari 3,00 %. Salah satu bagian di Pabrik Kelapa Sawit yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas CPO adalah storage tank. Fungsi dari Storage Tank adalah untuk penyimpanan sementara minyak produksi yang dihasilkan sebelum dikirim atau dijual. Agar storage tank dapat berfungsi dengan baik, maka perlu dilakukan perawatan. Namun sampai saat ini belum pernah dikaji sejauh mana perawatan yang dilakukan telah sesuai dengan standar yang diinginkan. Oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengkaji efektivitas metode perawatan tangki storage terhadap kualitas CPO. Langkah-langkah pemeliharaan meliputi (1) mengkaji kualitas CPO, (2) mengkaji metode perawatan storage tank, (3) mengkaji efektivitas metode perawatan di tangki storage terhadap kualitas CPO. Analisis laboratorium dilakukan dengan serangkaian proses analisis pada umumnya, dimulai dari sampling, pengukuran dan percobaan, pencatatan data, dan analisis data. Analisis data hasil uji laboratorium menggunakan tabel dan diagram grafik, sedangkan studi pustaka untuk mencari informasi yang dibutuhkan pada literatur maupun sumber bacaan. Selisih FFA sebelum pencucian dan setelah pencucian mengalami penurunan kadar persentase sebesar 0,37%. Selisih Moisture sebelum pencucian dan setelah pencucian mengalami penurunan kadar persentase sebesar 0.12%.
