PENGARUH KEGIATAN PUSAT-PUSAT PERBELANJAAN TERHADAP TINGKAT PELAYANAN JALAN STUDI KASUS : JALAN AHMAD YANI, KOTA BEKASI

Operation of a shopping centre may cause changes in the transportation system. As an activity, there is human movement leading to and/or from the venue. Basic infrastructures as roads certainly will be affected by the presence of a development. It's just that, whatever its form, level of service roads must not be below the standard that has been set up so that no one is harmed. Based on the foregoing, the identification of the influence of the operation to find a shopping centre to the decreasing in the level of service the way it is important to do. One of the cases that occurred in the town of Bekasi, namely the development of the city into a city of trade and services due to location factors and regional autonomy. One of the forms from the rapid development of the city of Bekasi is The Ahmad Yani as a city of trade and services. This road is also one of the main options are the inhabitants of the town of Bekasi as the main access to activity in DKI Jakarta. The strategic location of the town of Bekasi is the potential for trade and services. There are two recorded the largest shopping centre in the town of Bekasi i.e. Metropolitan Mall (1993) and Mega Mall Bekasi (2003). The existence of two shopping centers this affect road conditions which give rise to Ahmad Yani obstacles aside and increasing volume of vehicles in this segment because of the existence of the entrance/exit is the second shopping centre is situated along Jalan Ahmad Yani. In addition the existence of toll gate road and Bekasi Liason (Kyai Haji Noor Ali and Jalan Madmuin Hasibuan) that is located right next to the shopping centre's second also adds to the traffic conflict which resulted in a decline in the level of service The Ahmad Yani. The purpose of this research was to improve the service road at the road of Ahmad Yani. In an attempt to achieve that goal, were done some analysis that includes the analysis of the existence of two shopping centre against the pull of a vehicle on a road of Ahmad Yani, an analysis of the level of service roads that include; traffic volume, road capacity and the average speed of a vehicle through the road of Ahmad Yani. From the results of the analysis of the obtained conclusions then proposed some recommendations. The recommendations proposed are the efforts of traffic management that consists of two stages: stages of short term and long term phases. Short term stage is expected to improve services to Ahmad Yani Street traffic flow is in a stable condition.
