Abstract
Pertambangan batubara berperan penting dalam penyediaan energi global, namun menghadapi tantangan dari keberadaan bonecoal, material dengan kandungan silika tinggi yang sulit dikenali. Bonecoal mengganggu produksi, menurunkan kualitas batubara, dan merusak peralatan seperti excavator dan gigi penghancur di Coal Processing Plant (CPP), yang berdampak signifikan pada produktivitas dan efisiensi operasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi produktivitas excavator dalam penanganan bonecoal di PT X. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi kuantitatif dengan memperhitungkan waktu edar, hambatan, dan efisiensi kerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produktivitas excavator PC 400 bucket backhoe sebesar 180 ton/jam dan bucket crusher sebesar 147 ton/jam, yang tidak mencapai target optimal. Faktor-faktor penghambat meliputi siklus waktu edar yang terlalu lama, kekerasan material bonecoal, penggunaan alat yang tidak sesuai, seringnya unit breakdown, serta kurangnya keterampilan operator. Kajian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk memahami karakteristik bonecoal, guna menentukan alat yang tepat dan optimal dalam penanganannya.
Coal mining plays an important role in global energy supply but faces challenges due to the presence of bone coal, a material with high silica content that is difficult to identify. Bone coal disrupts production, lowers coal quality, and damages equipment such as excavators and crusher teeth in the Coal Processing Plant (CPP), significantly impacting productivity and operational efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the productivity of excavators in handling bone coal at PT X. The method used is quantitative observation by considering cycle time, obstacles, and work efficiency. The results showed that the productivity of the PC 400 backhoe bucket excavator was 180 tons/hour and the bucket crusher was 147 tons/hour, both of which did not reach the optimal target. Contributing factors include prolonged cycle times, the hardness of bone coal, inappropriate equipment usage, frequent unit breakdowns, and a lack of operator skills. Further studies are needed to understand the characteristics of bone coal to determine the most suitable and optimal equipment for its handling.
